Off-Leash Recall Workshop

Join SFDOG as we co-host a recall training workshop at Fort Funston with Family Dog Training. Limited space is available – advance tickets ($25) and registration is requested. Click this link to purchase tickets.

Course description: Once your dog learns recall she can begin to experience the freedom of off-leash walks. This 90-minute workshop covers recall training with distance and distractions, what to do when your dog ignores you when you call her, creating an emergency recall protocol, and using a long drag line to practice recall.

Registration: Limited to the first 15 dog families. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 20. After registering you will receive some easy "homework" to practice the week before with your dog at home. All family/household members who walk your dog should attend.

Instructors: Ren Volpe and Rachel Biello
Ren is a Certified Training and Behavior Consultant with 30 years of experience training, walking, fostering, and boarding dogs.
Rachel earned her Certificate in Training and Behavior Consultation at the Dog Training Internship Academy, and is a graduate from Dog*tec’s Dog Walking Academy.

Our Training Philosophy:
Our mission is to help people and their dogs live together happily and harmoniously as beloved family members. We believe in creating a solid bond and a trusting relationship between you and your dog through the use of positive reinforcement, consistency, and the understanding that each dog is an individual. Training is about cooperative enthusiasm and should always be fun for both human and dog. Positive reinforcement dog training methods are science-based and humane. We do not employ aversive or punishment-based techniques such as grabbing, yelling, or jerking on a collar/harness. We also do not use pinch collars, choke chain collars, and electronic shock collars. We do not condone the use of these or any other aversive methods.
